Think Outside the Meat; Vegan Wedding Menu

For a wedding, you choose your favorite colors, themes, centerpieces, flowers… why not your menu?  As a New Orleans wedding caterer,  I think people feel obligated to serve chicken or beef because they’re trying to accommodate their guests.

There was an all-vegan menu in former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton’s wedding.

But think about this; when you picked out your flowers, did you pick out flowers that all of your guests would like?  What about when you chose your colors and your invitations?  Did you make sure that all of your guests would approve of your colors and invitations first?  No, you didn’t.  Same for the menu.  It’s your wedding, it’s your menu. If you are vegan or vegetarian, definitely have a vegan or vegetarian menu!

Here are a few vegan wedding menu items that everyone will love.

  • Seitan and veggie skewers (with plum sauce)
  • Sweet potato spread and plum tomato crostini with balsamic drizzle
  • Fresh fruit skewers
  • Spring rolls with soy-ginger dipping sauce
  • Stuffed grape leaves
  • Vegan Lettuce Wraps
  • Falafel with soy yogurt Tzatziki sauce
  • Butternut Squash Soup Shooters
  • A Bruschetta Station

What do you think?  Do you think your wedding guest will complain about a menu like that?  Food Art, Inc. is a full service, catering company in New Orleans that happens to serve vegan and gluten free menus.
